01 Eat like a local

It is no secret that Greek cuisine is considered among the finest in the world. And we have a food tour to prove it. You are invited to sample some of the fabulous flavors of traditional Greek food in Thessaloniki with our ‘Eat like a Local experience’. This unique offer at The Excelsior, in collaboration with food tour experts Marmita, will take you to selected spots in the city to meander through our gastronomic culture of locally grown ingredients, simple dishes, slow food and social gatherings.

Taste traditional northern Greek delicacies with our 2-hour tour and discover the culinary history of the area, which includes a walk around the historical city centre with seven stops where different types of Greek cheese, olives, pies and desserts await.

02 Vineyard Tour

It is one thing to taste wine but to see where it comes from and how it is made is an opportunity not to miss out on, especially if you are an oenophile by heart.

At The Excelsior we offer guests an exclusive experience to go on a private tour of the famous Gerovassiliou Estate, situated just a few kilometres from Thessaloniki on the slopes of Epanomi. Taste and discover the area where the world-renowned Ktima Gerovassiliou wines are produced with a behind-the-scenes tour. The 2-hour Vineyard Tour includes a short walk around the vineyard, a tour in the wine-production, bottling and ageing areas, as well as a visit to the Wine Museum.

But it doesn’t end there, the proof of excellence is in the taste. Sample 6 of Gerovassiliou Estate’s wines, alongside a variety of Greek cheese, in their special wine-tasting room while enjoying the breathtaking view of the estate’s vineyards.
